Firepod distortion

On the Ad-Aware.. It's not as up to date as it used to be... I had the latest and greatest on my Laptop and was still having some problems with a popup program (Aurora, from ABI). Downloaded Microsoft's AntiSpyware and it cleared out about 10 items Ad-Aware missed... Didn't get rid of Aurora, but it's pretty solid, updates itself regularly, scans on program start-ups to keep spyware from ever getting started up the first time, which I'm sure chews up a little bit of your system resources itself.. But you can at least shut down realtime scans if you want...

I am very pleased to say that I have got the firepod working correctly by using a 6pin to 4pin firewire cable, plugged directly into the laptops own firewire port. Something so simple! It had been recommended to me to use a PCIMCIA firewire card, instead of the computers own ports, so it was the last thing I suspected. I suppose the PCIMCIA slot in the HP has got something wrong with it. I have yet to test this new setup with any heavy load, but it's looking promising. Unfortunately, now that I have a reason to plug in my monitors, I've discovered They buzz when the laptops power is connected. I've tried distancing the laptop from the monitors, as well as hooking up the power for the monitors and the laptop to different outlets, in different combinations. At least the firepod works, I'll keep busy for a while no doubt.
I thank everyone for all your help.
