Firepod crash

well, after 3 uses, my Firepod has gone tits up. Time to go get an exchange.
Bad firewire port, of all things. Anybody ever experience this?

In the computer industry, the term we use for that is "infant mortality". The bulk of failures occur within the first few hours to two or three days. If a piece of hardware lasts more than two weeks, odds are it will last for many, many years....

Sounds like a bad solder joint.
