Firebox users.... is the Firebox pretty hot/warm after use?

I guess that's why they call it the "Fire box" with pun intended. No seriously though... is it my unit or does after maybe even 5 minutes of use, the top black part is pretty damn warm compared to other units? I'm afraid to even use it longer than an 1hr....
 
Are you powering it by FireWire or by an external AC adapter? Sometimes more heat is generated when it's plugged directly into an outlet. Also check the manual and website for some information.
 
I noticed that when I had a firepod that it would run rather hot as well, but I had done several 3 or so hour sessions with it, and the heat never seemed to be a problem for the unit.
 
Well, my Firebox is usually bus powered via regular 6-pin to 6-pin from the computer, and not adapter. I was just wondering if this is normal for all other people who use the Firebox; it just seems though it's a warmer preamp interface.
 
yeah I noticed the samething when I had firebox it used to get hot after couple of hours of use. I was using as bus powered.
