firebox fx loop

stupid question:

Is it possible to run an fx loop out from the analog outs of the firebox and then back in to the line inputs? I'm buying a compressor (for loud vox) but i want to see if i can ride the firebox's pre's till i have to buy a "real" preamp.

basically I just want to make sure the signal only gets amplified once - then when i pull it back from the loop and into the ins on the back it'll go directly out to the firewire.

anyone know specificaly if the ins on the back are amped at all?

No, the inputs on the back are Line level. No additional amplification happens there.
