Here it is kids, the highly anticipated  NEW and IMPROVED version of the #1 pop smash, The FIREBIRD!

Whats new? A LOT:

My collab partner Frederick put his magic touch on this. He provided some way cool samples.

More strings have been added.

Extra Vitamin D.

All the offensive rap words have been taken out, replaced with kinder, gentler, more republican words!

I IMPLORE YOU, dont try this at home.

DavidK,

This piece has so much going on in it!....I love it, never a dull moment, plenty of action. I had the feeling of being chased at 00:47 and I love the little run at 1:23.

The recording quality is brilliant, I can hear all the instruments clearly and I particulary like the sections that have that (I think where you pluck the strings on the violin with your fingers) tip-toe feeling!

I enjoyed the section starting at 3:47....Good stuff!

Thanx for sharing with us!
Well Done! :)

This is an excellent piece of music DavidK. It's the kind of performance that you can listen to several times and hear something new each time. It is incredibly dynamic. I echo Gorty's comments about the quality of the recording... Many tracks, each with their own part in the sonic spectrum. Again, it evokes images of the orchestra on different parts of the stage - front/back/left/right. This must takes hours to mix....Oh and the playing is amazing, as always....

Man...great sounds David. Very Big.....Grand.....Nice.... :D
This is a great piece....sounds very cool. Playing is superb, and the quality is just beyond belief. Very nice....

Thanks for listening fellers

This must takes hours to mix....

Actually, it takes DAYS. :D Its still not mixed to snuff but its getting there, I spent several hours on it this morning. One of the cool ( or frustrating) parts of stuff like this: there is no "correct" way to mix it. Someone could say " I think the 2nd trombone is not loud enough in measure 63" and others could debate its relevance. This thing is HUGE, I have no idea as to how many actual tracks are on this, I would guess 120:eek:   I think there are 40 violin tracks on this, submixed into 2 main tracks. There are 26 total tracks on the final version, each containing between 1 and 20 individual tracks. Winds, for example, are 3 synths mixed down to 2 basic tracks, so its basically pre-mixed way in advance. :) This is about 25% of it:

I'll get back to this later, as this tune I am pretty intimate with, among some of his other stuff.
first off...nice rendition.

Wow, man you must have a supercomputer to handle all that input (lol).
I can see how this could translate into days of mixing. You've done a great job so far, keep us posted on your progress....

HAAAAA! I have an AMD Sempron, 1.8ghz and 512mb ram! I just plan like mad, and every project like this has 4 versions:

1 for midi and tempo map
1 for all the combined synths
1 for all the violins
1 the final monstrosity

I constantly export stuff with reverb ( waves) and compression/eq. This is all well thought out in advance, I have been planning this for 20 years. I performed this piece five times this season alone. I do lots of effects bussing to keep down the damage.

I really like this stuff. I can't say anything except it's very dense and intense - I like it. It reminds me a little of Danny Elfman, and I mean that in a very complimentary way.

Smooth, man.
