Anyone had this problem?

I'm playing a lot of fingerstyle lately, and keep losing chunks of nail - cracking, splitting, etc.

I'm thinking some calcium tablets may help out. ANyone have any experience with this and how did you resolve it?

"Manicure to table five"

I would suggest filing your nails. Take some prenatal vitamins, my wife says they do great things.

Maybe a manicure would not be bad, maybe some clear polish to strengthen them.

How about some finger picks?

Next thing you know, he will be craving pickles and peanut butter...:D

Just grab those calcium tablets you mentioned and replace your nails with them...100% calcium nails!

Peace...

The ole wives tale says to take gelatin tablets to strengthen your fingernails. I'd listen to the gals this time.

I've got a friend who does nothing but fingerpicking - he does regular superglue treatments.

Superglue? Really?

I have used some clear nail polish before but it was a little, ok, a lot too shiny for me.

I promise I'm not bullshittin' with this one. :D

My wife uses the old nail extensions that are held on and filled with a kind of Super Glue and granular powder that comes with them.

I started mixing a bit of the glue and powder and applying it to the business half of my nails. It gives them strength without looking weird.

You haven't been drinking enough!

I thought most everyone knew that alchohol consumption promotes hair/nail growth!

I tried the nail extension thing - went to a manicurist and had her do it.

Looked weird, but also I couldn't feel the nail hitting the string.

Think I'll try the superglue - watch this space!

Foo,

I would have to recomend the gelatin tablets too. I used to work on grocery stores through high school and college and have been told by many women that they were most beneficial for nail growth and strength.
