Argumentative...
Any recommendations for these things. I have a compaq case that is relatively silent because their is no case fan with it(only fan is the one on processor/heatsink). So I think this will do but not sure how hard my computer will be pushed and if I'll need extra cooling. If you need specs just let me know ^_^

I'd like to see the specs. That way I can know what exactly you are running, how hot the gear gets, and what not. Are you looking to move all the hardware to a whole new case or work with the current case you have? Also, what is the specific model of the case you have? Is this a custom built system or a package that was bought with a model number?

If you're looking for quiet, the best is water cooling. It has gotten alot easier to install now days and is near silent. However, if you can't go that route, I'd like to know more information if possible.

Off the top of my head(not at home right now)
I have a Phenom x3(unlockable 4th core)
Asrocka7gmh mb
4 gb of ocz reaper ddr2 ram

160 wd hd 7200 rpm
1tb Samsung hd 7200 rpm

I have a few cases to choose fr really but if there's better I will go for it

I have the compaq sr1603(I think) it's quiet because no case fan.

I also have a broadband corp fx series case

And don't remember the apevia case I have. But I could update when I get home

I have installed a kit of noise reducing mats (silent and efficient power supplies) in my case. I also use very silent fans and PSU and a Zalman ZM-2HC2 hard disk cooler/silencer. My computer barely makes any noise.
If you decide to use fans in your case you should consider getting dampening mats and low noise fans.

I have replaced a lot of my fans with this brand "Noctua" They are amazingly quiet and even have rubber mounts supplied to stop transmission to the case. I even changed one of these fans into my tascam MX2424 recorder and reduced the noise by about 80%. Eventually I will change all my fans to this brand. They are also very reasonably priced.

One thing to remember though, These mats will make your system quieter, but that is because of their mass and how they insulate. Mass and insulation = heat. They are kind of like placing a blanket in your system. I, personally, would advice against replacing fans with these, because these do not cool your system at all. If you want cooling + low noise, then you should go water cooling.

And I think what I'm going to do is just put the bitch in a different room and get some cable extenders lol
