Finally, a guitar amp/speaker combo (albeit not a good one).

Being primarily a bassist I've played my guitars through my bass amps & cabs for 35 years: until now;
(That is, if you accept that playing through a tiny pignose isn't really using a guitar amp/speaker set up.)
For a very small sum I bought a 2nd hand Peavey Blazer 158 15w amp. Not much of an amp & not much grunt - & most certainly not a tube amp, (you should see the prices for the little epi valve jnr & similar downunder), I know, BUT a speaker meant to repro the sounds of a guitar not bass, nonetheless. It's interesting to listen to the difference in clean mode - def. reproduces the brighter end better than my single 200w cone box.
I've used the Pignose as a pre for the Peavey and it sounds really nice to my ears & I look forward to tying it out wth a tube pre. Time will tell: once my ears are over the newness of it I'll be able to campare & contrast the results.

very cool. i know ryan martinie of mudvayne plays an ampeg stack and runs the head (or di) into a mesa boogie 4x12 guitar cab for added mids and highs.
its good when bass players stand out instead of playing in a guitar players shadow. good luck to ya.
