I've been looking at the Aardvark Direct Pro 24/96, but some driver issues are scaring me. Does anyone know if the latest batch of updates makes the card work as advertised in XP? Thanks.

Anyone? (not trying to be bossy, just wanna keep the thread up a bit longer ;))

I have the 24/96 running in win-2000 which I think is the same set of drivers as XP. I have problems, but I don't think it is an ark problem. I use n-track and it gives me fits at times, I don't believe there are any major problems with the new ark drivers.

Thanks! Anybody else had positive or negative experiences?

Well I've had my Aark 24/96 for over a year.... took them what seemed forever to get the new drivers ready for XP. Now I have XP and use Sonar 2.0 I am now having a problem with the built in effects on the Aark interface.... they will only work if you lower the recording sample rate to 32K... which is unacceptable. I wrote them... they said this was a "known" issue. They will soon be posting a "patch" to fix this problem. I do think the card is very clean.. and solid... but the drivers and issues have been many. If I had it to do over again... I'd pick a different card myself.. but being the stubborn person I am.. I have stayed with this one to kinda see it through. So if you get one.. I wish you good luck and lots of patience.

fine

I had the 24/96 until recently . I am now running a ProTools studio. I miss the Aardvark. It worked flawlessly for me under Win98. It recorded 4 tracks, live, for hours and my pent600 never cried. It was responsive and the sound was right on.

hi
I've been using aark 24/96 for two years and it's tha most importent peace of equipment in my home studio (exept for headphones sony mdr-7506). I used it under w98 lite - superb and a month ago I switched to w2k. At first I had some problems with playing just couple of tracks in cubase 5.1 but after installing service pack 2 this probliem disapperaed. you must remember one thing. Instal the system as Standard Pc. It's the most importnet issue you should be aware of - if you don't know what I am talking about try to find topicks about instaling w2k or xp.
now I can handle 40 tracks in 24 bit and 48khz flawleslly - in cubase 5.1 and the same in sx.
and I have just p3 733 with 256 of ram!

the drivers are ok- just can't wait for gsif support
