Hi guys, yea, it's me again.

I'm ready to do a mixdown and go to CD. I plan on using my RNC between the deck and the burner. I've already compressed all the tracks at least a little. A bit heavier for bass. How much compression do I use at this stage? I'm going for a very midstream country rock sound.

I guess I'll be using the "Super Nice mode". The directions seem to suggest that. I'm not sure if I tread very lightly at this point because it's already been compressed once???
Thanks

It somehow seems to depend on whether you see this as the mastering step or will have your mastering done by externals...

After all what I assume is that the music style you describe usually uses rather heavy mix compression. So if you don't get it compressed by the mastering house, you might try quite a lot... But keep in mind: it's always a matter of taste, and there are a lot of very respectable guys around here who don't like the heavy mix compression - I do, though... The thing is that I don't know how a heavier single band compression will work on your stuff - and I'm not sure whether you'll have the possibility of using sidechains on the RNC...

Ciao
