I've got a Lacie external drive here... and I'm wondering if there is a specific technic to use to copy wav files from my pc to Lacie.

Or is it as simple as copy and pasting the file to the Lacie?

I've read the manual, but they don't seem to get into the details.

Just wanna be sure. :)

It can be that easy. I use a backup utility (free) http://www.rdcomp.net/ezbackitup/

The nice part is, it compares the files from the source to the files on the backup drive and only copies over stuff thats changed or new. Much faster than overwriting everything all the time, especially if you have alot of data.

Its got a scheduler built in so you tell it what to back up and when, and you dont have to worry about it (assuming your computer is on at the scheduled time). Or you can just hit a button and it'll back up on command.

You can back up to another drive in the same computer, an external hard drive or a drive in a different computer if you have a network at home. My main computer backs up nightly to a second hard drive in the same computer... then every month or so I hook up my external drive, back up then store the external drive at my work place.

Did I mention its free...:D

If using PT then you want to save your session through the software ie go to "save as" in PT and save to the lacie
otherwise PT can loose files and stuff or it can get messy
