File destruction

There once was a note
Has anyone ever noticed this problem. After working on a project alot and pushing the CPU hard, Vocal tracks that are pitch corrected and edited become corrupted, they get clicks, pops, distortion and must be re-tracked. I've always thought Cubase was non-destructive, but I think everytime you pitch correct or edit it alters the file permantly.:eek:

Anyone???
 
It doesn't alter it permanently. The original will still be in the audio pool (ctrl-p) unaffected. Even if you bounce the file (v) it will still have the original, plus the newly bounced file in the pool. If you need to start over, there is a reset function [for pitch and warp] on the left hand side vari-audio panel that will reset everything back to the original. You can even reset either just the pitch or the warp changes.

Believe me, there is no destructive editing in Cubase whatsoever.

Preciate that. I figured the re-set should un-do it but couldnt really tell. Plus your right I could always re-import the file, didnt think of that.

If you right click a file in the audio pool that you want to re-import into the project window you can select Insert -> At Origin which will save you the hassle of having to spot it.
