File Conversion?

Hey,
At the moment I am pretty short on cash and I need to work with some .mp3 files but I can't afford to buy the .mp3 plug-in. Does anybody know of a good "FREE" file conversion programs? Or just a program that converts .mpe files to .wav files? I have adaptec cd burning software but it will not convert .mp3 to wave for some reason. Anyway, any help is appreciated.

hey

this is exactly what i was looking for today, and i found music match jukebox(free) at cnet.com under downloads and then most popular. it does both wave to mp3 and mp3 to wave. i dont know if there is anything better out there, but this did the job.

A nice little programme (freeware) is CDex.

It does mp3, wav and mpeg and is a nice cd ripper as well.

I've been using "right click mp3" for a while now and it rocks. Imagine just right clicking on your wav file and in the copy/paste menu that comes up has a convert to mp3 feature. Really that simple. And you can change the settings also. Goes up to 320 kbps too.
So go to http://www.execpc.com/MrShannon/rc-mp3/ and get now and have happy mp3 conversions forever.
