few questions, please answer!!

1) clippin tracks( reachin the red light) without distortion, is that wrong or shud be corrected???

2) recording quality of vocals, i have a condenser mic, and a mixer wich goes thru to my computer soundcard, do i need anyfin else to perfect the quality of vocals!

3) any software or plug-in that produces chorus or harmony??

4) playing the arranger, som tracks drown(loose frequency) whilst on playback, is that due to soundcard or cheap software??

1. If it's not audibly clipping, you are fine, although the headroom on your mixer might be very different from the head room on your soundcard.

2. Maybe an outboard compressor, but if I were you I would just use a plugin after tracking....

3. Google it. Lots of free ones available.

4. It's probably due to a lack of mixing skills if you are new to home recording. Your software should allow you to change eq settings on each track to make them sit better in the mix.

1. I'd watch it with clipping. That's one of those things that could come back and bite you as you transfer between formats.
 
Good point. If you are using a digital mixer for recording, check your unity gain level. If your levels are too high and you were to transfer to - say an anologue mixer or tape, you may run into probs.
