upon saving files which is best: acm waveforms, pcm waveforms, or is it something i didnt even mention? and why?

on the options/settings/multitrack section are the buffering presets of cool edit set up fine or do i need to tweak these? i notice no slowing down or general problems but im just trying to cover all my bases here.

on the options/settings/data section which checkboxes do i want to leave checked and which to i not want checked (i get confused with all of my options like downsampling quality level and what not). and why?

i have general ideas on most of these questions but im still relatively new at this and i would rather not make any mistakes. i really appreciate the hlep from everyone.

also seeing as how i had questions about these cool edit set ups, if any one knows of any other general set up tips to help optimize my cool edit experience feel free to add your two cents.

thank you

PCM is the best for quality. Its uncompressed and is compatible with anything.

The default settings work fine. I would only play around with them if you are experiencing problems.
