Fetal Heartbeat sample for rthym track/Please review

Hey! Heres are a couple of songs I did. The first one was done while my wife was pregnant w/ my son. I used the line out on a fetal doppler heartbeat monitor...sampled it and laid it down for the rythym track in a tune. Thats the top tune.

The second song is called Roller Skate Giirl, and was done in the genre of the True Stories SOUNDTRACK(not album) by the talking heads. If you have had the blessing of hearing it, youll know what I mean.

I played all the instruments and pedal steel too!!! Most of it was done on a Tascam 788 and then dumped to cool edit for mixdown.

Let me know whatcha think!

Hehe, nice, I am a baby in my mother's tummy who is sleeping on the shores of a Jamaican beach. This is kind of 'ween'ish. Mixwise it's sorta loose but it lends to the song I think in this case.

One question, "go to sleep my little .." what? What are the lyrics here? Sounds like "corn"?

"go to sleep my little CUBBIE" but corn works too!

Yeah, tryin for a nontraditional caribean lullabye w/ the pedal steel subbing for hawaiian lapsteel. There are a few knee pedals used, but tried to make it simple.

Anyone listen to the 2nd tune? Pretty funny.

Thanks for the feedback!

Friggin pc. I am having issues with soundclick not coming up, nowhere radio won't let me open your songs (there is only one on the page), and a couple other mp3 sites don't want to work for me. I will listen when I get home. I love the sound of a pedal steel. I wish I could play one...

Wanna get in on the collab we got going in this forum?

I thought the idea was ultracool..but got old after awhile. You needed to morph the beat into something... change it up....or make it a 2 min or less novelty!

the 2nd tune...too MIDI sounding for me...but I guess captured your roller rink theme. Sounded like a Casio to me. Perhaps you could have taken the idea, rather than let the piano roll for the entire song,... like put a little technical chops and creativity into it... then maybe back to the programmed stuff at the end.
