Fequency of Changing Drum Heads???

Our kit gets played about 8 hours actual playing time a week, and our drummer is a "heavy" player....

I was wondering on how often the heads need to be changed on this kit??

Depending on the heads, (pinstripes, ambasadors, etc...) maybe once a year.

Brand new heads will be much brighter sounding than worn ones. Once you get to the point where they won't tune and/or get very dull sounding, it's time to change them.

Bottom heads

Change the heads when the sound gets crappy and tuning has no effect anymore.
But be aware that changing bottom heads once in a while has a MAJOR effect on the sound.(if you use bottom heads at all....) I usually change the bottom heads every 2. top head change. (maybe a little too often, but I love good sounding drums.)
