I just got one. Y'all will kill me, but I traded my '71 Ampeg VT-22 (minty) for the Showmaster SSS F.A.T. (=Flame Ash Top.)

At least it's lighter!

Truth is, I've never really had a decent guitar. I'm thrilled with the strat-y deliciousness. It is exactly the tone I've had in my head.

The top pic is my actual, from the store photo. Fender's stock photo has a nicer top, of course. Mine really does the 3-D shifty flamy thing when you move it back 'n forth.

I thought I would only ever want something more classic, but this one sounds so amazing. It out-strats a strat. I think the Bridge and middle pups are a little closer together-- bumped closer by the extra frets, maybe? I'll have to measure and compare.

No trem arm came with it, so I can't report there. But the thing sounds so bark-y and quack-y and clear and lovely thorugh my '50's premeir amp. I've never bought a piece of gear that made my skills and sound make such a quantum leap.

I can't believe that I've been playing guitar for 18 years and have never had a strat or any "real" electric. (My blue sparkle gold hardware washburn J-9 doesn't really count. Feels great sounds meh.)

I really thought I'd have buyer's remorse, but obviously, I'm stoked.

I think yours has a nicer top than the Fender stock photo. I like a more subtle wood grain on most anything except quilted or flamed. I think yours looks great!
 
Man, the grain on that is great...the colors are awesome!!






You know...I thought, I had my Gasssss under control...but....












....you just made me drool...:D
