Hey all,
I picked up an old fender princeton 110 plus amp chassis in bad nick for peanuts this week.
Almost all the pot shafts were broken but the seller claimed the amp to be working otherwise, so I thought I'd give it a go.

The direct replacements were a little pricey so I bought el-cheapos instead.
I knew they weren't likely to be a direct fit, and I was right, so I've fitted them on trailing wires. No big deal. :)

Here are some before, during and after pics.

Not very exciting or challenging, but I thought I'd share.

Thanks chaps!
I thought I might get some BOOOs and Hisses for using generic pots!
I played for a few hours earlier and everything's working well. Very pleased. :)

A pot is a pot chap! If it is the right value and law and quiet, nothing else to say!

If I might make one observation? I have noticed that a lot of DIY electronic'ers use ALL THE SAME COLOUR WIRES! FFS Why?

We ALL cluck up and miswire things, goes without but it is MUCH easier to trace a cockup if you have a colour plan for your builds.

Ok, those pot wires are a simple example and very visible but I would STILL have used 3 colours (and twisted the wires and used heat shrink but I am a bit anal that way!)

Jus a fort!

Dave.

Haha, Fair enough Dave. You're not wrong.
It was just a combination of laziness and availability, really. :)
