what is this?
I'm looking to get an "all purpose" recording amp, just as a different option to my POD's, to get that genuine "mic'd speaker" sound. Has anyone here tried the Fender Cybertwin? I saw a demo on one at a local guitar shop here, and it sounded friggin awesome. I'm almost convinced just to get it!!! I've been addicted to fender tone for years, and it came pretty close (to my ears) to the real deal as far as amp emulations are concerned.

Pro's: Amp 'options', cheaper than Line6 Vetta, sounded good when I heard it, etc...

Con's: None that I can think of as of yet...

Anyone that has used one, I would really appreciate a quick review...
Thanks! ;)

I think theyre really fun amps, and have some great sounds, but I really like the Vox AD120 much more for the sounds I like. The vox does Vox/Marshall way better and the Fender CTSE does cleans and high gain metally sounds better.

I was just thinking of that amp today.

I have a question though, not to hi-jack your thread, but does the Cyber Deluxe (the single 12" mono amp) have a headphone jack and are the effects in the headphones in stereo?

I own an original Cyber Twin and I love it! I have the foot controller for it, an XTLive and a Variax, with that set up, I can just about nail anything tone wise.

It was pointed out earlier in this thread that there are better alternatives for a Marshall type sound...true that. But if you want a Marshall sound, buy a Marshall (I did)...you won't however, get a Fender sound out of a Marshall either. It's the first time I saw that type of response. In another forum, some poster posted that he tried a Cyber Twin and couldn't get a good tone out or it. I went to his site and found he played thrash/death metal. My point is, it's designed to cover a lot of pure tones. Get into the "My amp collection" where they list Fenders from various years, use that as a bass, then add gain, reverb etc. For me, it wasn't the presets that sold me, it was the amp clean amp sounds...you can come up with your own chain of effects once you like the tone of a clean setting.

I like that it's solid state and tubes. I also like that the dials turn when you change presets. That way, you can see how to tweak an amp other than the cyber twin...you get to know what "presence" or "mid" sounds like.Oh and I like the in/out of phase switch on the speakers. It'so pretty easy to set up your own presets in whatever order you want them to and have four of your faves on the footswitch that comes with it.The built in tuner is also a plus...no problem seeing it on a dimly lit stage.

When I heard it demo'd it was by a pro player, and he was using a clean amp tone. When he kicked in the "tube screamer" pedal model, that thing screamed. That's what sold me (even though I haven't bought it/can't afford it yet). It is next on my list though for sure...
