I like the sounds. I think the acoustic could come up in the mix, but that's more of a persoanl preference thing. I just like it's sound. I like the electric "melody" lines.. Those are very nice. They seem to sit very well. Vocals are very clean.

Very clean, sounds nice. I'm not one who believes louder is better but the whole mix is too quiet. Performance is fine. I'd like to hear the harmonies centered with the lead singer or at least closer with a little reverb on them. Also the guitar seems to be stronger on one side, I'd like to hear that evened out.
 
Good to hear another song or yours.

Fine quality vocals - intonation, expression, tone quality, recording. Very lifelike sound and I like the minimalist arrangement. At first I thought the ac guitar would sound better if it wasn't so gentle but I changed my mind mid-song. All in all it sounds very clear, clean and realistic. The elec guitar lines are creative and tasteful with interesting tone.

I think the arrangement might benefit from a subtle acoustic bass line and an elec guitar lick at the very end over the acoustic. The intonation of everything is so accurate throughout that the one spot it's not perfect stands out to me - where the elec gtr solo starts up at 2:28.

The vocal harmony writing is excellent.

Nice song....lots of cool things going on here...guitar/vocals/lead.....

Good lyrics, along with the music paints a mellow and meaningful picture...

The vocals and harmonies are really cool...so close and intimate. I keep wanting to hear more reverb on them, then I remember that everything doesn't need to be drenched in reverb (lol)....good job there.....

The lead guitar is very tasty and fits this well....

Gets a tiny bit low in volume at 3:00 before it comes back in on the verse, I might bring the acoustic up there, it seems to slip away for a second....

Dogman: Thanks for the comments. I struggled with the level of the acoustic, so I know you're talking about. I'll probably do a few more mixes, and one will definitely have the acoustic up a bit to see how it sounds.

Timothy: It's always nice to hear your comments, considering how much I respect your musicianship and recordings/performances. Yeah I didn't quite make it up there with that first bend in the solo! I may slap some pitch correction on there to see if I can fix it. I can't redo it because I recorded that part with my friend's amp and guitar and I'm moving this week to Milwaukee!

Oh man, at the "Ye-aaaaaahhhh" part I wish a full band would've come in....I would've soiled myself. I like your style man, very smooth. Of course, I love the harmonies; I know how hard it can be to harmonise with yourself! Like the "atmospheric" electric guitars. I think someone else mentioned before, the acoustic should be centered. It's kinda off to one side.

Have to say, I really like this piece. I'd relaly love to hear you with a good band!
 
Listening as I type. Man good stuf here. Very ncie vocals and great harmonies. Listening on PC speakers atm and sounds great to me. Gave me inspiration to start doing some better recordings. Thanks ;)

Cool. I've still got your "That's what I'd Say" kicking around on a comp CD I play a lot. Great to have some more.

I can't really comment on the mix. Except that everything is cutting through a washing machine, boiler pump, and 7 housemates sittiing around me right now :) All on some poxy shared computer setup. So something must be OK.

And I am feeling a bit shattered this Sunday morning, so the song appeals.

harmony vox: some peavey dynamic (the good one though... the only good mic peavey makes ... I didn't catch the name though)

acoustic: AKG 414

electric: strat through Deluxe Reverb RI, miked with SM7

He records on Cubase, but I'm not sure of his interface.

Really like the song, well conceived, well performed, and well recorded...has an Eagles vibe to me.
