Hi, first posting of music on here (and first posting of any music online) - would love some feedback on these two efforts.

This first one is an original:

The second is a cover inspired by the Guilt by Association compilation if anyone's familiar with that. I did it as a bit of fun, but I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out:

They're both a little ragged around the edges and I ain't going to win many singing competitions, but I'm not really after a particularly commercial sound anyway. Hopefully they're not entirely without merit.

Cheers
Rob

Pretty good.
I preferred your original. Nice acoustic sound and slide guitar. Having a bass in there wouldn't be a bad idea. Your voice fits this kind of sound.

Thanks for listening and for the feedback Joey. I'd wondered if there was enough bass sound in there too, but was worried about it sounding cluttered with another element in the mix and hoped the lower end of the acoustic would compensate.

Thanks for the feedback on the vocals too.

very very nice Rob...I couldve listened to the acoustic for ages on its own, let alone the rest of the excellent composition...no nits from me, almost ambient perfection...no bass please

some really solid stuff being showcased by folks I havent heard in here...more please

Wow, I'm really flattered - I wasn't expecting anything so positive! Thanks kcearl, that's really encouraging and you've made my day :D :D

I will listen to some of the tunes in your sig link when I get a moment

The first one kind of hit me like Led Zepplin. Nice feel!
Mix sounds nice and clear. Nice slide.
I agree some bass would be nice. Mabe some vox?
Narration on the end was a nice touch.
Second song is nice recording also.
As far as vocals.....you do better than me!

Maybe a few minor timing issues that may just be my ears. My timing is in question at times to, so it may be me.

Thanks very much r4m, much appreciated. I love Led Zep III, so I'll take the comparison as a compliment.

You may be right with a couple of little timing issues on the first song. I quite like the way that the various rhythms bounce around off each other, but I'm hoping it landed just the right side of cluttered!

Cheers for listening :)
