15 years ago I inadvertantly put a feedback loop through my 122MKIII cassette deck. I cant remember exactly how but basically I sent the output back into the input while recording, It was ugly, loud screech and pegged meters. After awhile I noticed cymbals now sounded like bottles being clanked together. I tried demagging and troubleshooting but with no change. I managed to return the deck under warranty and actually "upgraded" to a DA30MKII that I still have. I now have 2 other 122MKIII's that always reminds me of that incident. Has this happened to anyone? It seems I had damaged the heads or electronics. I am now always carefull not to repeat that with any of my machines.

Never happened to me before! Interesting. I wonder what happened in the electronics to do that?
