I have been trying to use Drumkit From Hell with my protools LE setup.

i have 1Gig of RAM in a 2.5 P4 computer and i cant even open up a simple drum configuration without either skipping and/or crashing protools...etc. I cant even edit the sounds when it is open as a plugin or it will crash PT instantly.

is there a less computer resource intensive program than DFH2 out there that sounds really good for alternative rock?

thanks

The problem may not be DKFH2, the problem may be the dreaded 'ProTools'.
Try the DKFH2 plugin with a different software package - for example Tracktion. A fully functioning demo can be downloaded for free here:

http://www.mackie.com/products/tracktion/

If you like it as much as I do it's only $80 to buy it.

'ProTools', IMHO, is vastly overrated simply because, by hook or by crook, it's positioned itself as the industry standard. That doesn't necessarily mean it's the best out there, or the stablest or the easiest to work with.

Don't be afraid to think outside the box. There ARE other options besides 'ProTools'.
