Hey everyone,
I'm looking to buy a Digital interface soon...And I'll be using a PC for awhile so it'd beed to be good on a PC. I am considering either a Delta 1010 (although I don't know much about the program it comes with) or a Digi 001 (which Protools I've used quite a bit already) but they are discontinuing it...So I dunno. Anyone got an favs for their PC they know rocks? I currently just run analog and use Cool Edit Pro. Lemme know, thanks!

I think as far as value for the dollar goes, the Delta 1010 LT is really strong.

The MOTU's are great for portability and convenience.

While the Lynx and RME's are probably about the best in terms of sound.

Programs are really subjective. They all basically do the same damn thing, so it really depends more on how your brain works -- which is logical and most intuitive for you and how you choose to work? If you like Adobe Audition, then I'd just keep on using that.

As far as software goes - I've been using Reason for a long time. I love it.
You should give it a try. The newest version is v2.5.
Be sure to get a strong & fast CPU with a bunch or RAM and Gigs too.

i would say go with delta sound card for sound and value for money.
i know folks on here get fed up with me recommending it , but try the demo of powertracks from pgmusic.com. if you dont believe me (its only 29 bucks
for 48 track digital recording). he uses powertracks with a delta sound
sound card and loves the combination like i do.
if you have a pc just download the demo sometime if you think i'm lying.
you wont do better for the price and youll get great sound quality assuming
the rest of your signal chain is good like mics and mixers or preamps.

i made a typo booboo. i meant to say if you dont believe me talk to a very knowledgeable guy called rharv on the powertracks forum at
pgmusic.com who loves the delta plus powertracks solution like i do.
also check out the fact it records in 24 bit as well plus included
are a huge number of audio effects and midi features.
i basically use powertracks to emulate two 24 track tape machines.
hth.

I'm seeing the Delta 44 on sale everywhere (on the net) for around $150. The Delta 66 for $190. These are great prices on very good cards.

if I could start over, I'd consider the firewire solution.... M-audio Firewire1814... or Motu828MK2.

i'm using an RME Multiface hooked up to a Marian Adcon for 16 analog i/o with Nuendo as my software.

Never had any problems with the Multiface, the thing just works and sounds great.

Rme

I agree, the multiface simply sounds great, and the drivers are unbeatable.
Have you guys seen the NEW fireface 800 box from RME.
Cheers
