Bring Back Transfat!
Are there ways of beefing up the sound of a smaller diaphragm mic (in this case, an AT4033) to get a little richer/fuller sounding vocals?

Move in on the mic a bit to take advantage of the proximity effect..........

Use a pop filter. You should be able to get intimate sound out of a 4033. If you're not getting the sound you want, time to try a different mic.

How long have you had this mic? Just wondering.

I would use a wide peak around 200hz.

I have a 3035 and I did not dig it at first. Then I put the 10db pad on, used the lo cut and put the pop filter about 4 inches out with me right on it. Now I caress my 3035 everynight before we lay down. I have found no reason to boost low end on it yet. It can seem a bit harsh all by it's self, but in the mix it sits very well. and thats what matters.

F.S.

P.S. I have a low voice so factor that in.
