Fast transfer of tracks from HD24

i am using LAN to transfer tracks from HD24 to my computer for editting and backups but it takes toomuch time.I want to know is there any other method of transfer faster than LAN and what soundcard I will need(should not be very expensive)

it is called the "fireport". connects via firewire port on your computer. not sure what they are going for these days. might be able to find a cheap one on ebay.
