For the sake of amusement and (a little) education, I'm wondering if anyone can identify a famous recording, and then list gear that was used to achieve that sound.
You know, something like...Joe Schmo used this mic through this pre, through this console, with this software, etc.
I know that talent and intelligent experience are the key elements to recording, but it's still interesting to know what the pros can achieve with some of the same gear that we may have sitting in our "spare room" studios.
