Hey people!
I've been building drums for a few months and I want to try out doing some fading and bursting with the colors. I would like to be able to see the grain through the color so doing the fade/burst with a stain or translucent gloss/paint mix would be optimal.
How would you all recommend approaching this? Paint? Stain? Spray gun? Certain angles/methods to suspend and rotate the drum? Brush? Cloth? Two colors or more? Fat over lean... etc. If anyone out there has done this kind of work and has some good advice before I ruin beautiful shells figuring this out, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks everyone!
