Word.

Heres the deal. I think i can scrape enough bones togehter to get me some sorta mixer. The Behringer MX1604A, I believe its called, jumps out at me cause its cheap and would appear to be adequet for me needs at the current time.

Then theres the model below it, basically the same features i think (?) but it doesnt have faders.

Basically, are faders worth an extra $70? The $70 I would save could be put toward an NT1 or something...

Faders reveal their usefulness whenever you have to do level adjustments on more than one channel at a time,e.g.raising a guitar for the big solo while fading the background vocals, bringing the guitar back down while getting the lead voice up over the cymbals, you get the picture. See,you can assign fingers to seperate faders like index for vox, middle for guitar, etc.Kind of hard to do with knobs.Cheers!

Ya, I see how faders could be useful in that situation. I dont think I'll need to be adjusting multiple levels at once, because almost 100% of the stuff we will be doing will be multitracking. So maybe, for me, the faders would just be an unneeded expense.

Hey King, get the faders. You'll thank yourself before long. Maybe not on your first or second mix, but you will. You'll end up working faster which equals more time spent on the music.

yeah, faders is the best way to go. even if you're "only multitracking", faders may come in handy for you on mixdown. even if you're not doing huge level changes, it's easier to see where everything is, level wise if you're using faders. just some thoughts!...

definetly go with the faders!!! they do come in handy .. im using a behringer for multitracking and its great with the faders. I use to own a smaller behringer (with knobs) and its amazing the difference .. youll wonder how you ever did without em '
anyway goodluck...
