What is best for using Wall Curtains to absorb sound? I used carpet padding in the past. The wife hates it, so i figured that he wall curtains would be more suitable.

Any insite? Garrett

wow... i'm amazed she even let you put that up!

wish i could answer your question. i'd say go with a heavy fabric and lots of drape - not flat across, you know? enough that it makes many folds. but im no expert.

Well, I use Full size Wool survival blankets from an army navy store. About 25 bucks at an army navy store, 5 at thrift stores ;)

The best kind is the thick felted wool. Your wife can sew pretty purple and green fabric to them, too.

Keep in mind that any bass problems (a.k.a. the *big* problems) in your room are going to become even more apparent if you use the drape or foam method.

Wheras if you use bass trapping, the highs normally almost take care of themselves... A sheet or two of foam (or theatre curtain) to handle flutters is all you'll need.

That's why you put them in the corners, too.
