Wow. Lots goin' on...

mixmkr: sorry about the comment, I read your post as "better than thou" and got pissed off. no offense meant at the end of the day (although i think i meant it at the time; i get grumpy sometimes, and don't feel now that it was warranted then). i DO feel there are better ways to give advice/criticism, and that's where the comment stemmed from. you know.

sjoko: keep the songs coming! apologies if my replies screwed your thread up. hope you're feeling better nowadays. song still needs a bridge, though ;)
 
Couple of things:
1. There seems to be a misconception regarding my not posting anything again. Note that this is NOT because of critisism - I really don't give a flying rats ass about that - its because the bickering that ensued, and always seems too.
2. In response to Dobro's question, Bass was DI in, 1 guitar was DI in, 2 guitars went into THD UniValve's and line out from there, we were rehearsing guitar parts, drummer and percussion players were absent, we just used a standard loop, we all wore headphones, Uru sang live, of cause, and 2 backing vocals are her sister and her cousin. All went into the live console we were trying out (digital console), 2 ch mix went AES up to the control room into Pro Tools, which in return provided a Q mix.
I pressed start and ran down, which is the funny part, as I forgot I could have taken a USB output from the Yamaha and used that to control PT remotely

Sjoko - thanks for feedback. I can see how it worked so well now. Wish I'd been there is all I can say. How'd you separate the vocal mics from each other? Put 'em in different rooms?

As for the bickering: yup. Happens all the time here. This is a low class board. And not just low class - it's anarchic as well. Shit happens here that simply isn't tolerated on more professional boards, not anywhere near. Ed and I have been leaning on Dragon to set up more moderators to monitor forums more closely, but Dragon's draggin his feet on it. So the lack of rules, politeness and mutual respect continues, and the low class crowd here is entertained by the flaming. But as long as Dragon prefers the site to be as anarchic as it is (and there's some value in that, plus it doesn't stop you or anybody else from exercising finesse in the middle of the melee), nothing's going to change, and the bickering will continue. Why am I pointing all this out? Well, I want you to stick around, but I want you to be happy as well. But you know this, right?
 
Wow, you must not be very fluent with BBS 's... This is the most civil one I have seen... anymore civil, we would all be sitting in rocking chairs knitting.;)
 
Well, check out a site that's hosted by a company - Syntrillium, for example. Check out some pro sites - the one with Craig Anderton and Massenburg, for example, or the one with Fletcher on it, or Lynn's 3D Audio site. They're way more civil than this one. Check out the Acoustic Guitar magazine website - ditto. The only site I've seen that approaches this one for flames is the Fruity Loops forum.

I'm comfortable on this site, but it isn't very restrained. Dragon loves the Wild West is my guess.

So, which other sites do you hang at? Don't you gravitate to sites with people that know more than you? Don't you find that when there's loads of flames on a site, it's generally because the people involved know approximately (give or take, you understand) fuck all?
 
Well.. I am a member of the Tabcrawler BBS... and it's wild.. I mean, if you say you like blue guitars... 20 people will flame you because only "fairies" like blue guitars..

Audio Forums, also.. ran into quite a few flames there... Same with the Old Christopher Cross BBS.... (thanks god it's awesome now, and all thats gone)

As for the other BBS's... Well they aren't music related, so I don't wish to offer what they are to your knowledge..;)

We both know that the only reason you are able to get away with it is because there is no consequence......for example if you had said that in person....there would have been consequences....that was all. I have lightened up now......please don't try to be 'HARD' and everything will be cool. Maybe we could meet at one of these conventions sometime and armwrestle before the jam.:D I'd even be willing to open the betting pool just for laughs....i'll put a grand on myself!:D

My apologies to everyone... Bad week for me... I just found out on thursday my parents are splitting up after 27 years....

Normally, im pretty easy, but this week, has been rough, and I guess it's just the wrong week to fuck with me ;)
 
I must say VOX....you really do make me laugh... If you wanted it to end, it's simple....don't respond. I offered some good suggestions and you declined them...I offered and apology...you declined it......I don't know what *YOU* want me to e-mail you about, but I have made efforts to end it....I have nothing to hide. You really should let this one go dude...But if you wish, I will keep responding when I see your commentary.. It's funny....

If you truly want it to end, don't respond.....If you want to continue and keep pretending your fighting the good fight..I'll keep responding....So I guess we'll wee who wants it to end by who responds next:)
