I know I will probably get many responses making fun of me or telling me to read the manual or whatever, but I bought EZ Drummer from a friend and he had lost the manual long ago, so I'm stuck.

I've installed EZ Drummer onto my system, and this dude was telling me you have to load this program through a program such as Sonar, which I have (Sonar Producer Edition). I can't find EZ on my system after opening Sonar. I don't know where it is, or how to use it.

Anyone have the patience to shoot me a response?

Thom

i dont know a thing about ezdrummer but if its a vst you'll have to configure it first before sonar will see it

Which version of SONAR? I have 6.x now and I too had a hard time finding it at first. 6.x doesn't use the VST wrapper as the previous versions so there is a learning curve to it in that regard.

If it is anything like Session Drummer, it is a MIDI effect.

Try right clicking in the FX box of a MIDI track and see if it is listed in the Midi Effects menu.

When you do the install you should pay close attention to the folder you are putting the program in or change it to a common folder.

It should be listed as a synth, but may come up as a plug in.

Do a scan of your plugins/vsti's and pay close attention to the dialog box,it will give you options on how programs are filed in SONAR.

I've ran through the options in my Sonar program, and I didn't run across a Plug in or vsti scan. Should I be looking there, or run a search somewhere else?

It's been awhile, but Cake has a plugin scanner that works on it's own outside of SONAR.I would check the Cakewalk site for details.

It's been awhile from the first post, but I am still having this problem. I searched the Cakewalke webite for a plug-in scanner, but found nothing. EZDrummer is not listed anywhere in my program (like my MIDI or my synth list) Anymore suggestions?

I have dfh superior on my laptop and i'm running sonar. On the ez drummer disc, I think the first disc, you might have a folder that says "plugins". Open the folder and click on the setup file. Don't click on the auto install, click on the custom install and look for your vst plugins folder within the cakewalk file directory and install the program in there. So when the next time you open up sonar and you insert the vst plugin, EZ should be listed. That's how it is on my superior set up. See if that helps, if not look on the toon track website for the pdf manual. good luck.
