(If this is a duplicate thread...sorry)

Anyway, I revamped the last song I recorded and added some vocals. I also re-recorded the guitars.

What do you guys think?

It aint working man....

DOH!

Lightning MP3 doesn't seem to be working for me...
I've uploaded it to a different location, and posted a new link!

Not a metal connoiseur myself but I can appreciate this.....
- nice tone on the guitar(s)
- exquisite lead break, rhythms rock!
- bass I can actually hear in a metal song (lol)
- vocals seemed a tad low on the beginning, but I got used to that mix as it progressed. The chorus was a little louder once you combined the voices. Again I'm not familiar with this genre so it's probably fine where it sits....

Cool stuff!

:) :D :) :D

Holy bejessusss batman! Sounds good on computer speakers with a sub. Only thing that I though sounded strange was when the snare is being hit really fast, there's this strange drone overtone note thing going on. It just really stuck out to me.

Still sounds damn good though. a+

I love the guitar sounds and would love to know what your signal path for them was and what you did to process them. The drums, hmm, can drummers actually do that? So brutal, good job!

Great grumble voice....... :D

Brutal playing man...I like it. The rhythm is wicked fast...for me. Nice tone.

Cool song. I can never get that clean a sound even playing slow...awesome man.

Another killer song dude!!! I agree with one of the other post about the vocals being a bit low here adn there but besides that, perfect death metal!!!

Guitar signal path:

Jackson SL2H soloist with Seymour Duncan JB pickup >
MXR Wylde Overdrive for a clean boost >
Peavey 5150 II >
Marshall 2x12 cab >
SM57 on axis, 2" out of center >
Brent Averill 312a mic pre >
M-Audio Delta 1010 >
Sonar 5

I recorded 4 tracks, 2 hard panned left, 2 right. I varied the tone somewhat for each pair of tracks.
The only processing I did was EQ, a hi-pass filter at about 80 hz, a wide boost of about 2 db centered around 4k just too make up a little bite which I wouldn't normally do, but when I was mixing I started to think that I had the mic too far out of center, plus I'm still getting used to my new 312a pre.
Also, there is a somewhat narrow cut of about 3 db at around 250hz to cut out a little boom.

Thanks, and yes....drummers can do that. ;)

The guitars sound kinda boxy to me, the tone is nice apart from that boxy sound.
Awsome playing!
The snare seems a bit weak and unbeleivable. Sounds like that drumagog sample you sent me. :)
You could get away with bringing up the OHs.
The low end is nice and controled as is the lo mids. Well done.
Good stuff MetalHead.

Huhhh! I'd be the first to bitch about a boxy guitar but that certainly is not what I would call boxy.

There is a certain boxyness to the guitars although not that boxy.
Just slightly boxy. :)

Just a name: Derek Roddy. he can do that... and a lot more. One of the fastest drummers on earth along Flo Mounier (Cryptosy), James King (Origin), George Kolias (Nile), John Longstreth (Angelcorpse) and Inferno (Behemoth). Check this out for more info: www.halfmanhalfmachine.net
...
Brutal song man. I'd like to hear the voice a little higher. Just a pinch, if you get me. By the way, that arpeggio in the middle ives some interesting effect to the song.

another great extreme metal song from metalhead! awesome man.
