External Soundcard?

My soundcard isnt the greatest. Right now I run a small mixer straight into the line/in on my soundcard, however I would like to get a better sound out of it. Is there such thing as a "pre-soundcard" or "external soundcard"?

Don't know your budget, but two really nice choices for 'external' soundcards are:

Thanks guys, the first one will definitley fit my college-budget most. The presonus looks cool but it seems almost like it just replaces a mixer? I have a mixer with preams built-in, just loosing a little bit of sound going through soundcard. Thanks both of you.

Yeah the stock soundcards on computers definitely suck, and since you already have a mixer with preamps, there's really no need (at least not yet) to "replace" it.... Especially on a college budget lol. The link I posted (or an equivalent) will fix that problem.
