Hi.

Im running win2k with a *caugh*soundblasteraudigy*caugh* and Cool Edit 2.0.

Is it possible to route the signal out the soundcard through a compressor and back into the soundcard so I can alter the signal externally?

Plugins are great, but I want to get the feel of real equipment. I need to hear the effects of the compressor (or reverb unit or whatever) in real time..

Thanks,

demensia.

Nope, not without a mixer...unless you want to do it without monitoring :(

Sounds like you need to step up to at least something like the Delta44.

even if you did the low quality A/D conversions would ruin the sound... adds hiss going out... and the card adds even more hiss on the way back in... it's be better to spend a few hundred on effect programs.

I find it hilarious that he's from Mass and spells it "caugh".
I felt the accent before I even looked at location.:p
Or is that just a mispelling?:(

Well, it's spelled "cauf" of course, at least in PHX!

:) :)

Well... It's spelled "cough". But according to "hooked on phonics" if your from Mass, I guess it would be "caugh". Like go stot tha caa...
