Does anyone know about any firewire hardrives compatible with pro tools LE 6.9 with my digi 002. Like what brands, what cache size, RPM, ect. What should i look for. I need a secondary hardrive cause my audio is being recorded to the system drive and not processing at full capability. Any Ideas...Please Repond if you know. Thanks!

try searching for this, specifically in the "Computer Recording and Soundcards" forum. It has been covered OVER AND OVER again...

that will be the fastest and cheapest route, firewire next fastest, usb 2.0, then usb 1.x

seagate or hitachi 7200 rpm with 8 meg cache. if you buy an outboard firewire, you will have to get one from a drive maker to know what is in it, like a maxtor.

some places will install one internally if you buy it there. if you want the max number of tracks, go internal if you can.

Go to http://www.digidesign.com. Click on "support", then "compatibility". I think you will find the definitive answer to your question there.

FWIW, I use (not with Pro Tools, though, so YMMV) a cheap external FireWire IDE enclosure with a 7200 RPM drive, and it smokes. Here's a link: LINK
