i've got a gateway laptop, doing audio and i'm planning on getting an external firewire drive (80 or 120 gb, maxtor or smartdisk -- still up in the air).
my soundcard/interface is the presonus firestation.
i know you can daisychain firewire gear, but in what order?
also, is the best use of this new memory simply as backup, or is it advisable to actually be using files located on the external disc while your program files (acid, cooledit, etc) are on the hardrive in the computer?
