Currently I use two Terratec 8 outputs soundcard via cubase giving me 16 channels of output which I feed through a soundcraft mixer and back into cubase for a mixdown.
This kind of gives a hands on approach.
However I end up with a hybrid computer/desk mix due to channel limitations.
Two choices are to keep everything in cubase and buy a big monitor to enhance the mixing experience or to buy a longer mixer and even more terratecs to get maybe 32 channels.
I kind of like the fact that I keep the mix on the computer since it is automated and can be saved.
I can still send the mixdown via a mixer and re-record on two tracks for mastering "warmth".
What does everyone else do????
