Hello, I'm using a Tascam US-122 MKII to record in Cubase LE4. My microphones require phantom but when I switch to phantom on the Tascam unit and later export the track after recording it in Cubase, the exported track is just silence. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Hey!
Nice looking unit.
What do you mean "Exporting the track"?

Are you getting a signal from the microphone while you're recording? Click the monitor button in Cubase.

Now that I think about it, it could really be a lot of things.

Do you have your markers set to the beginning and end of the track? Do you have the track unmuted? Are you exporting the stereo buss? If so, do you have the track routed to the stereo buss (in cubase)? What kind of mic are you using? Is the track enabled?

thanks so much for the help! Yes, I'm getting signal from the microphones, and I'm setting the markers a the beginning and end. In fact, everything is fine as long as I don't switch the Tascam unit to "Phantom." When I don't record in Phantom and I export the track (to a .wav file) it plays fine, just very faintly because the microphones require Phantom. When I switch to phantom, I'm clearly getting signal because I see it register on the track in cubase, it's just for some reason once I've exported it, if I played for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, I've got 2 minutes and 30 seconds of silence. What is the stereo buss? In general I would think the problem has to have something to do with Cubase and phantom, since it exports OK when not in phantom. Thank you!!

That's not right.
If your microphone requires phantom then it doesn't exist without it.
You shouldn't be getting anything at all.
What microphones are you using and do you have any others plugged into your computer?
