Exporting a mixdown in Cubase creates pops and cracks

Hello,

I have a project setup in Cubase LE4 which runs perfectly fine on its own. It has 8 tracks of MIDI which run through the NI Kontakt 3 sampler.

I click to export the mix, and playing it back to myself, it is all crackled and broken up. Its the same problem I get if my computer cant handle the number of virtual instruments - a kind of hardware limit if you will. The thing is, its fine when I play it through before I export it?

Anyone know of a fix?

Is there an option to bounce it offline and not in real-time?

Also, are you exporting 16-bit 44.1 KHz WAV/AIFF?

Im not exporting it in real time. I am exporting at the rate you mentioned above.

I actually found a *partial* fix yesterday. If I activate the option to import back into the file pool, and into the project as a track, the imported wav file is undamanged. Its the strangest thing, I thought that would require more processing power.

Then I'm stumped. If all other audio (WMP/iTunes/etc) plays fine, then it shouldn't be doing that.

Maybe try freezing the MIDI tracks then exporting? That shouldn't make a difference, but you never know...
