Has anyone used the new Cad m177 yet? It "seems" like a great mic for the money($199 musicians friend), but I'd like some opinions before I buy one. Looks good, too. Also, what is everyones favorite mics for toms? I hear the Sennheiser MD421 is a great tom mic, but pricewise, I'd be more likely to go after a Sennheiser, Cad or AKG drum package. Are any of those any good? Also, anyone have any experience with the Behringer B2? Its a DUAL large diaphragm for under $300, MIGHT be worth checking into.

i got the Sennheiser E604 3 pack for $299 at guitar center. They were on special but i see it all the time
and they came with the clips to clip on the rims i like them bacause there small to.I thought is was a real good deal.,

The MD 421 and the Shure sm57 are both good on toms. I have used the E604 s live a couple of times and they weren't too bad, maybe a little bit 'boxy' sounding if i remember correctly, but not horrible. The clips that they come with tended to place the mics too far over the drum for toms 10' or smaller, putting the mic in the drummer's way, but were ok for larger toms. One of them got hit by a hard hitting drummer and it died on the spot, although a couple of the others had stick marks on them they worked fine.
