If I bought some instrumental music online exclusively, but I didn't get a contract and the music also gets sold to someone else.
Would it hold up in court that I got the beat first? Or could I sue the producer for doing this?

You have to buy rights touse that beat for yourself, it's commonly called "exclusive rights" on most websites which sells this kind of thing. May I ask where you bought or are going to buy music from?

yeah it was an exclusive beat, it cost $300. but I didn't get a contract

Did you try and contact him regarding the contract? It is pretty handy to have to prove that you actually have bought the rights for the song. Though, a receipt may be sufficient.
