The only thing on the mini documentary that I actually remember happening at the actual time was the CD. Heard about it the same day I first heard about herpes and AIDS. Funnilly enough, herpes was thought to be the most serious of the 3.

Also, I can answer the question the narrator poses at the end ~ 2010, 2011 and 2012 !
 
I always thought that the small ball that David Bowie had his music on in the movie *The Man Who Fell To Earth* Turned out to be the closest prediction of the future of how music was to be stored.
