Event Studio Precision 8 Active Monitors VS.Event TR8XL

I also would like to see many informed answers to this question. I need to find monitors I can trust to balance bass at a level that will sound right on the best expensive monitors.
 
I don't think you'll find anyone who has done a shootout on these two but I have the ASP8s and there is nothing in their price range that I have heard sound better. In fact to get a better sound than the ASP8s you have to jump up about $1000 to the JBL 6328.

One point of advice on these 8 inch speakers, if you have a small room, you may not enjoy the experience without extensive use of bass traps. If you are over 1600 sq. ft, then things won't be an issue.
 
If you're seriously trying to decide between these two then throw the Event 20/20 bas V2's in the mix, just under a grand so they're a few hundred cheaper than the ASP8's. I've heard the Tr8's use the same speaker as the 20/20's but the 20/20's have much more power. I don't really think its a contest between tr8's and asp8's
