Event 20/20 V1?

hello. i've noticed the first edition event 20/20 active monitors are pretty affordable used. i'm wondering what people think about these monitors. anytime i look up information, it's about the new V2 monitors...so i'm wondering about the older ones...especially compared to the tr8s.

i was recently listening to the alps, and I didnt like them that much.
the 20/20s should still work good.

I thought the 20/20bas were a complete waste of components. Horrible, horrible translation...

The passives, coupled with a decent amp, were a completely different story. Not great, but not a sickly-sounding plague of wasted wattage.

Again, YMMV. I know people who thought they were the sh*t also.

I don't wholely disagree with this assessment. The 20/20bas had a very weird "hard" sound to them, and nothing sounded right through them.

I have the passive 20/20's with a Hafler P3000 amp, and couldn't be happier with my monitor setup. 9 years now, and all is working well!

I have a pair of the old 20/20 P's that I love. They are powered but not Bi-amped ... (BAS)

I own 20/20basV2's and I think they translate very well. I used to have worlds of trouble getting my MAudios to translate.
