I just listened to walking the dog, cool stuff. What kind of guitar is that?

Glad you enjoyed it bigtom.

The guitar is a modified semi-hollow body Delta King with all the original wiring and pickups pulled out. Replaced with 57 reissue PAF pickups and upgraded wiring and controls.

I hate to be an old dag but don't you think you could
a) comment on the work of others before asking for some
&
a) offer up something less overwhelming than a tome of 16 tracks?

I'd like to listen but give me something specific to aim for - just one track and what sort of comment you're after (mix, playing, recording, EQ issues) as, honestly, there are few people I would listen to that many tracks for let alone someone of whom I have no knowledge of.

i picked phat n sazzy and i'm liking it! cool guitar sounds (are those all guitars?), interesting mix. by far not traditional but really cool sounding. the bass is HUGE btw, maybe trim that down a bit? sudden ending. cool.

I picked Falling Apart. I'll listen to another one later, and then maybe another one after that, and so on. :p

The guitars by themselves sound kind of weak, were they recorded direct? Drums sound like they are in mono but still sound good.

At around 45seconds or so it starts to sound better with more than 1 guitar in there. But after that when it's just the (acoustic?), I'd maybe double the part, put a stereo reverb on it or something to make it sound bigger.

I really like the melody though, and it sounds much better with more than 1 guitar going at the same time.

It's a cool song.

I heard Cantaloup Island. All instruments sound great, very nice bass sound, good interpretation, but the mix seems a little heavy on the right.

Cheers.

My fault, I did not even think of it in that way. I will make sure to follow the advice in future posts.

faderbug: Glad you dug it and yes those are all guitars...

danny.guitar: Yes they were direct via a GNX3000 unit. I will keep your input in mind when we work on the remix. Thanks..

NightFlight: We really appreciate the interpretation comment, MrBouncy cut all the freted and fretless bass parts and worked long and hard on the entire mix. I only put down the guitars on this one. All the drum tracks were created using Hydrogen.

it only rains when she cries : reminds me of a Ween song - don't quite know which one though.

great lead line!

i like the way the song fades out halfway through and then picks up again. that works really well. great way of capturing the listeners attention.

and a good ending. maybe it's a bit too long though. i was waiting for something to happen in the second halve, a sudden outburst of guitar energy, another instrument, samples, vocals, ...

not much to comment on the mix : this appears to be sounding as it should : a very specific sound, sec and understated with no frills.

you guys have a myspace account?

how were those drums recorded?

Thanks faderbug.. no on a myspace, just the website, our wiki and a blog. Keeping them up to date has proven hard enough (time).

Drums were cut with an Alesis drum sequencer.

single track to eval first...

Since it was pointed out that I should have separated my tracks into separate posts the track that is the latest and the one to evaluate first would be West Nile Papyrus. Thanks All....
