EV RE20 or the RE320 - Is the £/$200 extra really good value?

I got a message from a guy who had seen an older video I did on the SM7B vs RE20 mic, asking if the 320 was a viable alternative to the RE20, as he couldn;t really afford the RE20, but didn't want an SM7B.

I put the two up and had a go. Oddly, after listening a few times, I think I prefer the RE320 - it's brighter and more condenser-ish I think.

Rob, I was going to comment on this video after I watched it a while back but got sidetracked. I just ran across it again. This was one I was curious about given the price differential.

My main comment was that the RE320 was more sibilant that the RE20. The RE20 seemed to have more bottom until you used the roll off. I can see why it has been a broadcast standard. It sounds more natural to me. It doesn't really jump out at you and try to impress.

Unfortunately, if I had to choose one, it would be the RE20. Thankfully, I'm not in the market for a new mic.
