Don't stare at the eye.
There's a little plastic disc on top of the capsule, covered by a thin piece of clear plastic. These discs are prone to coming loose. The mic still works but any touch at all creates a rather boomy "shorting-out" noise, as the disc rattles.
This has happened to mine. The clear plastic film is still in tact, and in place--but the plastic disc is moving about underneath it.
Anybody have any recommendations for the repair of my RE-20? Better yet, are any of our resident mic gurus familiar with this issue and able to repair it? If so, PM me.
Thanks,
WS
