Ethan Winer:
I have read your article and those basstraps seem very similar to the fiber glass boards I have already made.
-How can I be sure that they will solve my particular problem?
-Where and how should I actualy mount them in the room?(walls, corners, cealling)
-What exactly is the diffence betwin the 1/4 and the 1/8 plywood on the basstraps?

Thanks!!

OM,

Without seeing what you made I can't say for sure. But if you make the traps I show as described, they are guaranteed to reduce or eliminate your standing wave problems.

Walls mostly, as explained in the article text. I put some on my ceiling because I wanted to concentrate as many as I could in that end of the room. But for a more "normal" room you'd line the walls.

Are you sure you read the article? :) The traps built with 1/4-inch plywood absorb the deepest bass frequencies, and the 1/8-inch traps absorb the higher bass.

Thanks!
What kind wood should I use? any as long that is plywood, or some works better than others?

Any plywood will do, as long as it's not so cheap and crappy that it has open cracks and gaps on the surface.
